My name is Olga. We live in Germany. My daughter has a genetic form of optic nerve atrophy.
At the age of eight, Valeria began to experience a rapid loss of vision. We were unable to control her intraocular pressure, and despite the use of eye drops, it did not fall below 20–21 mmHg.
In Germany, we were refused treatment and told that, given the genetic syndrome, it was unlikely that any therapy would help.
When Valeria was 10 years old, we contacted Mardaleishvili Medical Center in Georgia, where she underwent two treatments with mesenchymal stem cells.
Following this therapy, we were able to stop the deterioration of her vision, improve her visual acuity by 10%, and finally achieve better control of her intraocular pressure, which has remained at 10–15 mmHg.
